Xeoma Starter activation error: not compatible with new software

Q: Hello, I have Xeoma Starter, I tried to activate the license in Linux but it tells me that the license is not compatible with the new software.
So I tried to activate the license with Windows in the old software, I get an activation error.

A: First of all, when you tried activation on newer versions of Xeoma, you must have gotten an error message with explanation of this – including indication of the version you should use.

You see, your license is a Xeoma Starter that only supports updates of the program for 1 month since purchase date: in simpler words, it means that it can only be used with the Xeoma version that was out when you made the purchase. Example: you purchased a license end of February 2022, then it’s Xeoma 22.3.16 or lower.
You can get that version from the History of Changes page.
See Starter description.

To move your Xeoma to another computer, you need to “untie” the license from the computer you’re currently using it on. Use this page for this operation we call “reset”
Please note that it is considered that one doesn’t move a video surveillance system too often, so too frequent resets might be restricted.

Recommendation: If you’re still testing and selecting equipment to use Xeoma on, you should request a test/demo license instead. Activate the license on the equipment you’ve settled with after tests.

If you would like to get a newer version of Xeoma outside of your Xeoma Starter license free updates range, you can buy a new Xeoma Starter license on the Purchase page.
