Video surveillance at the Visa Center

Video surveillance with Xeoma: modern video surveillance systems at the visa application center

In modern society, it is already quite difficult to imagine any public place that is not equipped with the video surveillance system, especially an object of state importance, such as a visa center. The purpose of video surveillance system installation at the visa center is of course, first of all, ensuring security.

The video surveillance system equipped with Xeoma helps not only to increase the level of security at the visa center, but also to optimize the work of employees, monitor the quality of service and organize a centralized collection and analysis of information, greatly facilitating the work of video surveillance operators.

ENSURING SECURITY

Xeoma’s functions are based on artificial intelligence and deep machine learning, so Xeoma is able to perform tasks that, it would seem, can only be done by humans:

Face recognition – a module in Xeoma with which you can create “block” and “pass” lists – this will help both to react when a person from the “block” list (wanted criminals) is detected, and to automate access of employees to the visa center.

Sound events detector – a module that reacts to shots, glass break, screams or car alarm.

Smoke and fire detector is a module that analyzes the image from the camera for the presence of fire in the monitored area. Can be used in conjunction with smoke detectors. If a fire is detected, Xeoma will give a signal to the head of security. Also, using the HTTP request sender module, you can configure integration with external systems and organize an automatic call to the fire department when the module is triggered, thereby making it possible to extinguish the fire in a short time, minimizing the consequences of it.

Abandoned objects detector is a module, which helps in the fight against a terror attack. If any object remains in the monitored area for a period exceeding the module triggering threshold, this object will be considered abandoned – a potential threat of a terror attack. This module helps to respond to a security threat before it’s too late and eliminate the consequences.

Motion detector is a standard tool that is great for detecting people in the monitored area, for example, at night or after hours.

In addition to basic security, Xeoma also helps ensure security during the coronavirus pandemic:

Thermal Camera Data is a new powerful tool for solving tasks related to determining the temperature of objects. This module receives information about temperature from HikVision thermal cameras and helps to detect high body temperature among clients and employees of the visa center.

Mask detector analyzes the image from the camera and reacts when people not wearing medical masks are detected.

Social distance detector can detect people in the frame and determine the distance between them.

OPTIMIZATION OF WORK PROCESSES

Face ID, QR code recognition, Face recognition, Smart card reader – all these modules are designed to automate employees’ access to the visa center.

The above mentioned Face recognition module powered by artificial intelligence can detect faces in camera frame and compare them to embedded employees profiles thus facilitating automated access to the visa center upon seeing an employee. For double authorization another module FaceId can be used that in combination with the Smart card reader or the QR code reading modules can compare the face in the frame to the global profile of the access card holder.

With the help of the License plate recognition module you can also create “pass” lists of license plates and thus automate employees’ cars access to the parking lot of the visa center.

Thanks to the Parking spots module, you can track the availability of parking spaces in the parking lot of the visa center. This module can also detect the presence/absence of a given object in the monitored area. Coupled with the Object Recognition module (configure it to react to people), the Parking spots module can detect the absence/presence of employees at the workplace.

You can also control the absence of workers at the workplace using the Motion detector that can detect the absence of motion in the selected area (at the workplace), as well as using the Loitering detector, which is triggered when a person is staying in the monitored area for too long (for example, in a cafe or a smoking room) – which means they are absent from the workplace.

IMPROVING THE SERVICE QUALITY

Although you can enter the visa center only if you have an appointment, often visitors arrive earlier than their appointed time, creating queues.

The Crowd detector module allows to automatically count the number of people in the frame to determine long queues, as well as the social distance break.

Video surveillance systems based on Xeoma at the Visa Center

Have you noticed screens in the visa center showing videostream from a video surveillance camera in the hall, where emoticons with a smile, a sad or neutral expression are overlaid on faces of visitors? It is important for the management of the visa center to know that customers are satisfied with the quality of service, therefore Xeoma’s Emotion Detector will be an excellent assistant in solving this task.

With the help of the Visitors counter module, you can quickly get information about the number of clients who have applied for services at the visa center. If you analyze these statistics, you can make forecasts and plans to improve performance, as well as speed up the procedure for submitting and receiving documents at the visa center.

CENTRALIZATION

With a large number of cameras installed in visa centers, it is very important to organize a centralized viewing of all cameras to get a picture of the work of each visa center particularly. In Xeoma this is possible thanks to a multi-server mode, which allows you to combine systems into a structured hierarchical tree with a central unit that can be controlled from anywhere in the system. Using the multi-server mode, you can connect to all visa centers at once and/or switch between offices to get a complete picture of what is happening and improve monitoring efficiency.

Summing up, we can say that installing a video surveillance system built on Xeoma at a visa center will not only help increase the security level of both employees and visitors, but also help solve tasks related to automation of work processes, thus greatly improving the quality of employees’ work, as well as the level of service.
