Repeater cannot connect

Q: I got a Starter license with repeater service. I downloaded the Xeoma Android client and used the information in the Repeater to enter into the Android application. But I get a message that it does not like the password, although it is the one from the Repeater dialog. One possibility is that port 8090 is not available. However, I’m not sure how to check or change. Any help would be appreciated.

A: Please check the following:
1) Make sure you are entering the password right. There might be tricky letters like “l” (small L) and “I” – (capital i) or zero and capital O that can be mixed if you type the password manually. Better copy-paste the password when possible but make sure to not copy redundant spaces, etc.
2) Make sure that no antivirus and/or firewall on the server is blocking Xeoma’s attempts to establish a remote connection. Look for some rules that allow network activity for Xeoma. We recommend getting rid of all the “Block” rules here.

This shouldn’t be the port issue but you can install Xeoma to help it open its port.

3) Finally, if nothing else works, you can try the P2P connection instead:
* on the server open Xeoma;
* go Main menu -> Remote access -> P2P connection configuration;
* tick the box Enable the P2P connection option and copy the contents of the box underneath it;
* go Main menu -> Remote access ->Users and set any password you want for Administrator;
* from your Android device try connecting with the address from step 3 and password from step 4.
