How do I upgrade hardware without licenses going inactive?

Q: My computer that is running Xeoma is 9 years old and I have decided to replace most of the hardware including the motherboard and case. I have purchased all of the components and want to do the hardware upgrade within the next week or so. How should I plan the hardware upgrade so that I don’t suffer a lapse of service?

A: No problem, you can change your hardware parts. Licenses are tied to computer hardware randomly so we cannot foresee replacement of which part will cause the license to go inactive.
These are our general advice:

Make a backup of your settings just in case so to be able to import them whenever you need it.

After you replace your hardware parts, do a license reset here or ask us for help.

Then you can activate your license again via Main menu – Registration – Activate.
