Moving Xeoma from a virtual machine to physical: the license is already activated error

Q: We have 2 Xeoma Installation, let’s call them A and B, with A being the old one, a virtual machine with Xeoma bought in 2018 and a Renewal for it that we recently purchased.
B is a physical machinal, one where we want to transfer both the original license and the Renewal.
When I try the transfer I get the error that the license is already activated. How do I proceed with a task such as this?

A: To transfer licenses, you need to first untie them both from the machine they are used in. You can do it with this page

After both the original license and the renewal license are ‘reset’, please do the following:
1) on server (A) delete all .act files from Xeoma’s main directory
2) on server (B) activate both licenses together separated by a comma (no space).

Note: For virtual machines, the 1) is very important because old .act files can get in the way of activation on a new machine. You can skip this step only if the virtual machine has been completely wiped out before activation on a new machine.
