Responses to user support requests. Weekly overview. Part 26.

Q: From linux x86_64 version (kubuntu 24.04.3LTS) , when I connect on my ARMV8 (odroid n2+) server, and go in the view mode for a PTZ cam, the PTZ moves automatically without any personal action (no module, direct camera stream, no order….) it descends jerkily on its own! and this for all PTZ cams I have ! It is not manageable!

A: Could you please check if your Linux client machine has any software installed that emulates a joystick or a gamepad? If it does – could you try turning them off temporarily and see if this stops Xeoma from moving your PTZ cameras?

Q: Is it possible to show the list of licensed modules within Xeoma Pro?
How?

A: All available modules are displayed on the top panel while building a module chain of a camera. The list of specific modules available only in Xeoma Pro can be seen here. If you mean the number of specific modules available to you within your Xeoma Pro licenses (i.e. “How many Smoke Detectors can I use?”), this information cannot be displayed. The number of available Xeoma Pro modules equals the number of cameras available within your Xeoma Pro license (i.e. Xeoma Pro for 8 cameras = 8 Smoke Detectors, 8 Loitering Detectors, etc.)

Q: Would you please give some guidance on this setup? Xeoma version 2025-11-10
Net Structure
Public IP -> Local Router -> Private IP
Own Domain configured with SSL Certificate working fine in other local server
Remote access to Xeoma working fine via Port Forwarding
No Web Server installed on Xeoma server, and prefer not having to

Question: How can I enable Web Server module to answer HTTPS requests from internet?

A: Please enable the option “Enable secure https connection” in the “Web Server” settings. If you need to use your own certificates, see the “Path to certificate” section underneath – it will show you where to put them. You should put your certificates inside the “Server” folder and delete the current certificates from that folder. After that please restart Xeoma’s service.

Q: i’ve seen that my version of the xeoma software is quite old
if i update it, does the licence still remain the same? without any additions?

A: You might need a Renewal for an update if you want to keep an old license that has run out of updates period.
When you purchase a license renewal, it comes as a separate license code that only prolongs the available license update period and doesn’t affect the ‘license content’. You can find more about how it works in this article: https://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en/articles/software-updates/

You can buy the needed Renewal here.
