Reordering cameras in Web Client for multiple users

Q: We are currently experiencing issues with reordering camera modules within the Xeoma interface. With a large number of cameras across different locations, we’re looking to optimize the interface for a better user experience by grouping related cameras together. Specifically, I would like to move one camera to a different position. However, I have not been able to find an option in either the web interface or the client interface to reorder or rearrange the camera list.

I want the camera at the very bottom of the preview screen to appear in a different section of the webclient. Drag-and-dropping it only allows me to overlap a existing camera (Swapping them).
Also is it possble to set this for everyone rather than having to do it individually for each user account as we have 30+ people accessing the cctv.

A: A browser is not very flexible for your task. It is possible to configure camera Preview screen individually for each computer, but once the server is restarted the order of cameras in browsers can return to the initial setup.

You can set up your custom camera order in Xeoma client, since this is more applicable for your task.

The setup will be as follows:

  1. Open the preview screen on the Xeoma client and arrange the correct order of images for the current user;
  2. Close the Xeoma client;
  3. Locate the user.cache file via search on your computer. If you are using Windows, it should be located in the …\Appdata\Roaming\XeomaClient\ folder. After closing the Xeoma client, it will store information about the order of images on the preview screen;
  4. Copy the user.cache file and replace it on all user computers;
  5. Open Xeoma client on another PC and test if the cameras are opened in correct order.
