How do I get to work older Lite and Ubuntu 22.04

Q: I have a Lite license purchased in 2020. Some time ago I did an OS upgrade (Ubuntu) and it stopped working. What do I do?

A: If your Xeoma Lite license is purchased in 2020, it is compatible with a Xeoma released in 2020 only (Xeoma Lite doesn’t support upgrades of Xeoma, see its conditions).
However, Ubuntu 22.04 or up have modifications that make running of older Xeoma versions (like the one from 2020) impossible. We fixed Xeoma compatibility with newer Ubuntu’s in newer Xeoma versions – but they are not available to Lite users since they can’t update. Thus your issue with the license happened after updating Ubuntu.

There are two options for your further actions:

a) You can downgrade your OS to Ubuntu 21.04 or lower – it will work with older Lite licenses (in older Xeoma versions).
or
b) You can purchase a new Xeoma Lite license (or another type of license) and use it in your Ubuntu 22.04 or up with a newer Xeoma version that supports that OS (you can download the latest version of Xeoma here).

Tip: when it comes to video surveillance, we generally recommend refraining from OS updates and simply sticking to the version that already works – this would guarantee that nothing will go wrong in the future.
