License issues: when nothing else helps

Warning: please first try these tips

In situations where you’re trying to activate a license, and you get an error saying the license is misspelled, although you’ve checked and double checked that it is spelled correctly, you might want to try the following:

1) stop Xeoma: sudo path_to_xeoma.app -stopservice
2) access Xeoma’s main directory
3) delete all files ending with .act: sudo rm ./*.act
4) activate your license like this: path_to_xeoma.app -activateOnline YOURSERIALNUMBERHERE
5) run Xeoma: sudo path_to_xeoma.app -startservice

That would reset the activation to defaults and you will need to activate all licenses for this machine anew.
