Responses to user support requests. Weekly overview. Part 25.
Q: Is it possible with my Lite licence and the free version to have a full screen?
A: Hotkey F11 is aimed at providing the full screen experience. Have you tried it?
Minor note, the Free version cannot be combined with any commercial Xeoma editions on a single server.
Q: After checking my current version of Xeoma to see if it can be updated with the latest version, it says that the new version would terminate my licence after the update (due to12 months free updates limitation).
So it seems I cannot update my current version.
A: You can purchase an update renewal for your license here: https://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en/buy/#renewal.
If you’d like to give the new version a try before making the purchase descision, feel free to request your demo license for testing: https://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en/support/activation-issues/get-demo-license/
Q: We are here to ask if we are bound by any deadlines for activating the licenses.
A: Xeoma licenses don’t have any time bounds for activation. You can activate your license whenever you need it, licenses are perpetual.
Q: Hello, I’ve been using your free version for many years, thank you. You have helped me anyways. I normally run eoma on my old Mac, but it’s waiting for parts. So I am using my Linux Mint oo now. I have always been able to record on 4 cameras, but for some reason, it will only allow me to record on 2 cameras. I have deleted and reconnected the cameras, with no success. Can you tell me what I might be missing?
A: The conditions for the Free edition changed starting with version 25.3.5 and up: instead of 4 cameras 2 cameras are now allowed to record.
That being said, please download an older version of Xeoma (25.1.30 or below), and you will get 4 cameras like before.
You can get older versions from here: https://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en/changes/
Tip: Disable the in-program notifications about new version as to not be tempted to update your Xeoma to a newer version where only 2 cameras are allowed to record.
To disable showing notifications about available newer versions, untick all options in Main Menu -> Information -> Check for updates
Q: I understand that your licenses are valid for cameras, so If I install an Xeoma server for each camera, is that okay in terms of licensing?
A: The thing is, licenses cannot be splitted between servers, so, if you have, let’s say, 100 cameras and plan 100 servers – one for each camera – you’ll need 100 licenses for 1 camera each.
