How to restore cameras and recordings after everything has been deleted in error

Q: After a year with the system, we have accidently “deleted all” cameras in the system. Is there a way of getting the system “back to where it was” (30-some cameras and 370-day stored / recorded video).

A: The restoration possibility depends on how exactly the cameras and records were deleted.
If it was just the Main menu -> Install -> Restore -> Reset settings, then archives and settings can be reinstated for they are preserved on disk.

How to restore everything in this case:
1) connect to the server with the admin’s password
2) go Main menu -> Install -> Restore -> Restore settings -> Server’s settings
3) pick a date and time here when everything was ok

If, however, cameras and recordings were removed through Main menu -> Install -> Uninstall -> Remove all or erased manually from the disk, they are no longer available. Your last hope would be to try third-party Data Recovery tools that might re-instate files in your OS.
