How do I activate the hardware key license?
Q: I also installed Xeoma in a VM and I have attached the USB-Stick to the VM (Linux-VM).
But I have no idea what to do to activate the license. Should the key be recognized automatically?
A: Xeoma hardware key (USB key) is a plug-n-play device. So you need to insert it in the machine, make sure the USB device is “visible” on your VM (docker) and check your license in Xeoma via Main menu – Information – Active licenses. You can also check Xeoma’s header, it will be changed from Trial to Commercial mode.
Tip: In case the USB key is supposed to be working in a virtual machine:
Since the USB key is actually connected to the physical machine, you’ll need to configure your VM to see this USB device (as any other device you use on the VM). You can find more information on how to forward USB keys (and other physical devices) to a VM in the internet.
For example: “docker run -t -i –device=/dev/hidraw0 –device=/dev/usb/hiddev0” where these (hidraw0 and hiddev0) are the numbers created for the USB key.
