Activation through USB hardware key not working (Xeoma 17.5.5, NanoPi R4S)

Q: Activation through USB hardware key not working. After a littel ivestigation the server told me that the dongel is activated on an outher maschin. i plugt the dongel in to the USB port
and never plugt it somewhere else. Using nano pi 4rs and Xeoma 17.5.5

A: The hardware license is tied to the USB dongle itself, not to a machine so there shouldn’t be any messages like this.

If 17.5 is your Xeoma’s version – that’s the issue. The version is too old and doesn’t support hardware keys on ARM.
USB dongles have been added in Xeoma version 21.3.4 and up for ARM devices (Nano Pi is an ARM-device). See more on Xeoma changes history here

What to do: you can either
a) download version 21.3.4 (or up, depending on your license purchase date) for ARM devices* at the same link above;
or
b) keep your Xeoma version but use the dongle on a non-ARM device.

*The choice between ARmv7 and ARMv8 options depends on the OS on your device.
If the OS is 64-bit – use ARMv8
If the OS is 32-bit – use ARMv7

You don’t need any special actions to activate a hardware key once it is used on a supported version: as long as the USB dongle is inserted in the device, Xeoma is activated.
