Getting Emails with attachments in Gmail
If you’re experiencing with getting emails sent with the Xeoma’s Email Sending, the first thing to do is to check if you have input correct authorization data (login and password) for a FROM mail address.
See if you can log in with this data in Google mail itself.
If authorization data is input correctly, you might need to go to your Gmail email account and access its settings. In them, enable the use of third-party software (it’s disabled by default). This should allow Xeoma to send you messages via this module. (outdated as of November, 2022)
Attention! Previously, occasional issues with GMAIL boxes used to be resolved with turning off blocking of “less secure apps”. Starting from May, 30 2022, Google disabled password authorization for email sending from automated systems. Now you need to use a separate special ‘app password’ for that. App passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-step verification enabled. If you want to use a GMAIL email to get notifications from Xeoma, you must get a special Google’s ‘app password’ and use it in Xeoma instead of your email’s password. |
After it’s done, go back to Xeoma’s Email Sender and press the Test button to see if it helped.
